Relaxed-fit natural dye shirt. Straight-cut, button-front, large left-chest pocket. Dyeing commissioned to Amami-Ōshima–based, iconic mud works Kanai Kougei. Master craftsman Yukihito Kanai preserves the 1300-year-old traditional mud-dyeing techniques of the island, while expressing his fascination with gradation and new combinations of colour using materials within reach. This shirt is dyed with mangosteen and local woods, which react with the island’s natural, iron-laden mud, known as dorotetsu. Watch the film here.
